Marimba Player Kunihiko Komori and violinist Yonah Zur will perform new compositions with the marimba, a xylophone-like instrument, and the violin tonight at the Kimmel Center.
The event, sponsored by the Graduate School of Arts and Science program First Performance, will consist of new works by NYU student composers Toshio Hosokawa, Jenny Olivia Johnson, Matthew Quayle, John Serry and Jesse Sklar.
First Performance concerts are held throughout the year and feature new student compositions performed by professional musicians.
The show begins at 8 p.m. in the Eisner and Lubin auditorium on the 4th floor of the Kimmel Center. Tickets are free with NYUCard, and can be picked up at Ticket Central.
